Holy Chic

Abigail: Tank, Delias. Shorts, Levi’s. Heels, Aldo. Bag, Foley + Corinna. Sunnies, Tom Ford.
Emily: Tank, Jennifer Hope. Skirt, Reformation. Heels, Aldo. Clutch, Clare Vivier. Sunnies, Rivet & Sway.

Being completely nonliteral about “holy chic” today. Just an ironic graphic tee, which I’m kind of in love with, and my trusty pair of Levi cut-offs. Also just generally trying to wear nothing at all while this Summer comes to a close. All limbs, baby. Emily stuck to a material way softer than denim, in what could be called a skirt pajama based solely on comfort. Thank you Emily for adding those adorable lace-ups to our shoe collection.

Summer Basics

Emily – Top, Brandy Melville. Skirt, Reformation. Hat, Free People. Booties, Aldo. Bag, Ballista.
Abigail – Top & bag, Brandy Melville. Shorts, LF stores. Sunnies, Tom Ford. Shoes, Converse

A very broad color palette for Emily and I today: white, grey, and black! Sorry we’re not sorry. We’re still reveling in the last of these Summer days, and we’re sticking to cotton basics. Thank you Brandy Melville for keeping us so comfortable. At first I was self-conscious about wearing these high-cut denim shorts on the streets, but then I remembered the Polar Vortex……. that suddenly made it okay for me to be cheeky as hell when I wanna be. Also, Emily’s skirt blew up in the middle of Avenue B, so I didn’t feel as skanky.

Mercer

Emily – Top, Brandy Melville. Shorts, Reformation. Necklace, Zara. Clutch, Claire Vivier. Flats, Steve Madden
Abigail – Top, Brandy Melville. Skirt, Reformation. Bag, Vintage. Shoes, Toms. Bracelets, The Base Project.

There is nothing better than the cobble stone streets of Manhattan, so when you happen upon one it’s only just that you stop and take a few photos. Luckily we were in flats, otherwise we’d be doing the cobble wobble all down Mercer.
I felt like being a sass-ma-frass today with double the leopard print pony hair accents. Although, I toned it down with some simple black shorts and one of Brandy’s ultimately soft white tees. Seriously though how are they SO soft?!

Abigail on the other hand was getting hippy skippy today in a crochet crop and long locks. She did manage to point out on our walk to SoHo that she was a better person than me today because she was wearing two brands who donate part of their sales to charity. I would like to state for the record, I think I bought  those Toms……….

Another scorcher tomorrow, what barely there look will be sporting?

East Village Errands

Abigail – Scarf, Ami Goodheart. Dress, Salvage. Shoes, Vans. Bag, Ballista. Sunnies, Ray Bans
Emily – Top, LF stores. Skirt, Reformation. Necklace, Zara. Shoes, Senso. Sunnies, Dior.
Running errands in nearly 90 degree weather in the East Village looks a little something like this for us. Wearing as little as possible, barely there tops, rocker chic minis, and well skirts and a slight breeze… works wonders, but let’s just say everyone in the vicinity got quite the show.

I really like The Stones and I hate TV

(Photos by Savvy Shooter)
Abigail – Jumpsuit, Topshop. Sweater, Cynthia Vincent. Scarf, Alexander McQueen. Bag, LAMB. Shoes, Miss Sixty
Emily – Shirt, Urban Outfitters. Skirt, ReformationNecklace, ZaraBag, Rebecca Minkoff. Heels, Aldo.

From her cowboy boots
Up to her little black dress
I need a Jameson shot of confidence
Then I’ll let her do the rest

She’s kinda like a scene in a movie
I can hear music when she speaks
She says, “I can’t sleep alone.
I really like The Stones and I hate TV.”

Well I must confess
I’m a little obsessed with Dawson’s Creek
Yeah I know what you think
It’s not what it seems
Can I buy you a drink?

Then she said life goes on
We got all night
If you got rock and roll
You’re gonna be alright

So give me one more drink
And play my favorite song
Put a quarter in the jukebox
And sing along

I’m pretty sure it ruled… last Friday night.

On Abigail – Shirt, ASOS. Shorts, Zara. Heels, Preen x Aldo
On Emily – Crop top, Olivaceous. Skirt, Reformation. Heels, Aldo. Necklace, Zara

Our WanderFul friends had us over for what they assumed to be a casual dinner. One cocktail in, and Abigail was flashing the Upper East Side. (That’s like a five drink thing for a normal person right?) After some savory sushi we got a little camera happy… just a little though. Here are some outtakes from (just the beginning) of our Friday night.

PBR and puppies

On Abigail – Top, Brandy Melville. Shorts, LF stores. Shoes, Ritch Erani. Sunnies, Tom Ford.
On Emily – Jacket, Playboy. Tank, Jennifer Hope. Skirt, Reformation. Shoes, Sam Edelman. Sunnies, Bottega Veneta.

A typical WanderLust day? We start off with a very large cup of coffee, and run through the city from showroom, to photoshoot, to party!
Okay, so maybe that’s not everyday… More often than not we steal our neighbors dog, the beautiful and glamourous, Shelby, and head to the roof. Topping off the strenuous day of dog napping with a few PBRs and puppy play :)

Emily: Top, Alice & Olivia. Skirt, Reformation. Bag, Danielle Nicole. Sunnies, Dior. Boots, Aldo.
Abigail: Tee, Rag & Bone. Shorts, Nicole Miller. Bag, Rebecca Minkoff. Necklace, Zara. Flats, Steve Madden.
Trying to take full advantage of the semi-warm sunny weather in short-sleeves and no pants. Well, not no pants, but that would have been epic. Strolling our hood assessing the tree bloom status, posing creepily by children’s schools, and taking selfies. It’s getting to be time for an adventure… who wants to  go on a road trip?!

Holiday Hues

WINTER IS COMING…
Here are the trends:

1. Pantone’s “Color of the Year”, emerald. WanderLust is craving that maxi-skirt, green velvet, sequins, cool cut-outs, checkered minis, emerald manicures, and lacy lingerie.

2. Metallica. We’re on the hunt for golden pumps, bold trench coats, glittering tops, silver handbags, and mirrored manicures.

3. We’re loving this winter hue, called midnight blue. Needing a navy manicure, blue shadow, cool blue coats, luxe loafers, and possibly even locks to match.

4. Oxblood, burgundy, maroon, what have you… this color is hot for the cold. Lusting after velvets, huge handbags, all red everything, fierce pumps, and a seasonal manicure.

5. Ever-in-style, animal print. Rock it right with a vintage hat, long jacket, matching, rock and roll inspired, fierce accessories, or just be Kate Moss.. always a good option.

Fall’n

(On Emily – Shorts, Reformation. Cardigan, Jessi. Boots, Aldo.)
(On Abigail – Sweatshirt & vest, Jessi. Pants, Raven Denim. Shoes, Sam Edelman.)

There are only a handful of times you will spot us at Grand Central, one being catching a train North to Connecticut. The family was hosting a Fall feast, so we jumped at the chance of seeing suburbian foliage.
The first items pulled out were these Jessi pieces: a stringy striped cardigan, a holey sweatshirt, and the perfect length cargo vest. You know your Fashion is on point when Grandma says “that top is unraveled”, “your sweatshirt is ripped” and “is that a boy’s vest?”
Unlike Manhattan, we were able to enjoy a few Heiney’s in the yard, spin some Sinatra on the record player (notice rad new OPI color “Warm Me Up”), and dine around a long table with football in the background. (Let us remind you that in the city grass is sparse, most of us do not have space for a dining room, let alone a table, and we don’t watch football… okay maybe that’s just us.)
Oh, suburbia, you’ve always had a spell over us.
