Honestly, The Art Institute runway is always a spectacle. The top designers from AI schools around the country are flown to NYC, and debut a capsule collection. We were instantly smitten with several of the designs, starting with reds, and ending with our friend Michael Doyle’s all-black ensembles. Hard to pick a fav look out of all of these, but what’s yours?!
Metallics were a strong trend this season for both menswear and womenswear, and Katya Leonovich’s collection was filled with those lust-worthy shiny pieces we were looking for. This collection speaks for itself, as it’s way more over the top than most other collections that we’ve posted thus far. So, take it in, and enjoy!
All that glitters is gold at Son Jung Wan this season from the shoes all the way to gold encrusted lips. Mega metallics were a theme in both the womenswear and menswear. Gold lapels for dudes… yes. We’re really feeling this trend and could use an item or 20 from the collection.
Where do we even begin on the fur?! It took all of our power not to reach out and touch the cobalt and burgundy goodness as it came down the runway. One of our favorite collections from this NYFW thus far! What do you think?
Okay, there was one thing missing from our NYFW round-up last month… Shoe Stalker! Dun dun dunnnnnn. Like Carrie Bradshaw, we too are obsessed with the highest and most extravagant of shoes. So, we set out to find the best of the best. Whether it was strutting down the runway, or sitting front row, we snapped it! What is your favorite pair?
Back to basics for day 6. All black everything, except some sassy red shoes! It was one of those days. With an absent Abigail I partnered up with our one and only WanderLust Boy, Kim! Ombre shoes, badass. In general, badass. Me, pansy. I’m working on it. Sad to think NYFW was on it’s way out. We will miss you dearly, our feet will definitely not.
We needed to get fierce for day four… and I think we can all agree, the cat ears did the trick! We were so excited to get dressed by Nicole Miller for her show! Although, it was nearly impossible to pick which Nicole Miller pieces to wear, we even went through her archived collection… que drool. Her show along with all of day four’s designers were impressive and lust-worthy.
By day three we were torn. Too excited about Fall, and still soaking up the last bits of Summer. As a compromise, Emily went Fall inspired, and Abigail went Spring styled.
Didn’t we warn you there would be more color?? Even all white accessories for Abigail. Emily stuck to her roots with a full on AllSaints look. But, that is a sequined skirt, and a LIGHT gray sweater… so that’s a big step.
Regardless, day three kicked our asses, but we kept truckin’. More outfits to come
We were so out of our minds by day two that Emily wore gold accessories, and Abigail even started wearing patterns!! (Be prepared for even more as well!) A WanderLust Girl in florals, who would have thought?
It was such a fun fashion packed day running around the tents at Lincoln Center! It was the perfect day to test out our new Reformation jumper with all it’s wide leg, cut-out glory! Even though it was still technically Summer we were so happy to have our Adrienne Landau fur to cuddle up in as we awaited the shows in the ice cold AC filled tents. We’re not in the desert NYFW… air.. control.. people.
After the Mark + Estel show at Lincoln Center we dashed over to 1Oak for their after party, which we were psyched to co-host! Fashionable friends, Beck’s beers and bubbly… the perfect recipe for a great night, which it was! Always love mixing and mingling with New York’s finest and two of our newest fav designers That skeleton outfit, unreal.
Spectacular. Absolutely in love with this collection, especially the leather bralettes, monochromatic looks, and that red fur… hi! Mathieu Mirano always has an amazing collection, but this season put him as one WanderLust’s top contenders! Much edgier than we’ve seen in the past, and we lust it.
