Day to day for WanderLust is generally a lot of black, but Spring has brought a whole new side of us out… navy blue! (We’ve actually been adding quite a bit of color to our wardrobe, which you can see more of on our Instagram.)
However, to answer your questions of what we wear when we’re trolling the East Village, or out and about running errands? This look is along those lines. We trade in our mega heels for some comfortable flats, giant sunglasses, and cut it down to like 2lbs of metal instead of the usual 30lbs. Here it is- WanderLust Girls comfortable casual stylings! What do you guys think?
By day three we were torn. Too excited about Fall, and still soaking up the last bits of Summer. As a compromise, Emily went Fall inspired, and Abigail went Spring styled.
Didn’t we warn you there would be more color?? Even all white accessories for Abigail. Emily stuck to her roots with a full on AllSaints look. But, that is a sequined skirt, and a LIGHT gray sweater… so that’s a big step.
Regardless, day three kicked our asses, but we kept truckin’. More outfits to come
Found some old Springtime photos that are preparing us for the cool Fall weather. Summer is wonderful, but we gravitate towards layering, and Autumn (aka Halloween season.) Despite the rain, we made our way over to the Geova Atelier to grab some cute kitten ears and snap some photos. Once we were decked in our feline gear, we went where no cat should ever go, a dog park. However, the dogs seemed unphased by us, so we decided to do what no pedestrian should ever do, stand in the middle of a NYC street with your back to traffic. Not our best idea, but let’s be honest… when are our ideas really the best?
I can’t even pretend to act like everything is normal when I write this post. Seeing the photos of our butts makes me laugh every time, because we tried to video each other biking, and both ended up off-roading into a swamp. If you’re lucky, we’ll post those videos. DISCLOSURE: Any and all casual glamour in our blogposts must be discredited, because it’s highly likely we did something absurd pre or post photo.
Now that I have ranted about how stupid we are, I can say we had an amazing trip. Nothing like combat boots in the sand Emily finally busted out her Alexander Wang white long-sleeve, and naturally I wandered the island boasting about my vintage Jack Daniels tee from Grit N Glory.
Needless to say we got no color, and still appear as ghostly vampires that live in a cave. But hey, at least we have photos to prove we went away.
Just before the madness that was New York Fashion Week, we co-hosted an event with Miss America at Lifestyle Trimco. Any woman’s dream… an event with an abundance of crowns and vodka.
Quite the out-of-body experience to see our logo next to such an iconic brand (amongst all of the other incredible sponsors!) On top of that, Laura Kaeppeler is such a sweetheart, and we were totally digging her lace and leather look.
A young girl in search for flowers… turns into a forest nymph. Okay, so there are quite a few stages we missed, but with the help of a gorgeous Brooklyn park, potting soil, and SOTU’s costume creation, (and about 10lbs. of glitter) the metamorphosis went quite smoothly.
Had a “ball” the other night at the NYAA Tribeca Ball. Obviously we stopped at every interactive art project, aka the hanging mask photo, and the frighteningly accurate caricature by Charlie Churchill. Remains of Abigail’s pink hair, and two of our fav LBD’s.
