Matching has been an obsession of ours lately. Abigail went for an entire Dawn Han look in olive green. (One of our favorite designers, who happens to be an East Village dweller as well!) Emily on the other hand wore all black as usual, but kept it light with Theory pants and a Jennifer Hope top. And yes, this is our idea of business casual. Let’s just say when we walk into a meeting we want THIS to be playing.
Now that Spring’s here, be prepared for some more street style, and some of our usual ridiculous themed shoots
Two things we would die without: hair spray, and dry shampoo. Hair spray for Emily, because she loves messy hair, and dry shampoo for Abigail, because she’s just messy. We’ve never been the straightened hair kind of gals. Let’s be honest… we gravitate towards sex-hair. Teasing our hair into a knotty nest, or just not using a brush at all, and going with the flow (literally.) Being in the city, you’ve got to be prepared for all sorts of hair-tastrophe’s: wind tunnels, sun patches, filth and grime (are we taking away the glamour of living in New York?) Not to worry… when your hair is right, your life is right.
We’re new to Salon Grafix, but already a fan of these two products. Loving the fact that they’re blended with Keratin Protein Complex, for those of us who are repeat hair-dyers. The Salon Grafix dry shampoo even comes in color matches for your specific shade. Also extremely important to mention that they smell good, and are lighter than air. Even if you’ve just blow-dried, the dry shampoo is the perfect texturizer to give life to your locks. Salon Grafix knows that bigger is better, and we live by that. Big sunnies, big bag, big hair.
Sachin + Babi doesn’t mess around. If you want vibrant, they’ll give you vibrant. If you want leather fringe, they’ll give you leather fringe. If you want a tassel-y masterpiece, well.. you get the point. This collection was full of statement pieces that we would die to wear (hello metal fish scale skirt.) We’re looking forward to covering ourselves in some S+B this Fall.
Take it from two fashionable ladies, a woman’s heart flutters when she sees a man has “shoe game.” Heard of it? All a man has to do is swap his laces, pimp out his sock drawer, and occasionally do the courtesy cuff. If you’re looking to gift your guy, whether it be Easter, Fathers Day, a birthday, or Fourth of July (check out those star socks), Hook + Albert has you covered. Our tip is: don’t perfectly match the lace and sock. #ShoeGame
Son Jung Wan‘s runway shows always blow us away, so it was no question we’d love the press preview. Sure we came in our downtown duds, but we were swept away by those yellow and blue pleated dressed (styled with leather and metal of course.) Also swooning over that muppet-like fur, and bronze SILK jacket.
Perusing the Summer and swimwear collection of Volcom was quite exciting. We got amped up for all sorts of random beachy adventures from Coney Island all the way down to Miami Swim Week. Really feeling the denim overalls, “eff yea” slippers, and of course their new bikinis. Anyone want to stand out on the beach on the “ANTI BAD VIBE SHIELD” towel?!
What we think roof mobsters would do (apparently): Chain smoke on the rooftop, wear giant fur jackets and no clothes under them, which you can’t really tell in these photos, but it’s necessary to know, and finally wear badass hats and dark red lipstick. Of course, this is all while looking out on the city they mob in?
I think we’re a little confused by this whole concept… but for the sake of saving face, we LOOK like we COULD be mobsters… of our own roof. Just go with it.
