Folklore has it that the witching hour takes place at midnight, but on Halloween day in Manhattan, two witches took Central Park by surprise, and cast their spell before dark. Though cloaked in black, and an eerie sight, the witches’ spell didn’t intend to fright. They simply chanted, “When darkness falls, second-guess your dress, for if you don’t partake in the holiday spirit, our haunting will induce great stress.”
It’s that time of year again when we buy pumpkins way too early and they all cave in and rot a week into October. Or when we wear all our finest Fall looks, and it’s still way too warm. Or when Sir Sudsington (the skeleton hanging in our shower) is somewhat appropriate. However, most importantly it’s that time of year when we throw our annual, best holiday ever invented, soirée!
Tuesday, October 29th at The Stanton Social. 10-11pm free specialty cocktails. Costume and RSVP are required! A $500 giftcard to The Stanton Social will be given out to the best costume (judged by Ami Goodheart of SOTU!) First 100 guest get a special giftbag, so don’t be late Hope to see you all there!
Unfortunately, we are not trillionaire’s… so “looks for less” are quite necessary in our WanderLust world. We were so psyched when OK! Magazine asked us to pick a look we’re been lusting over, and see if we could find something a bit less expensive. After searching high and low (well, high and low on the internet…) we found some pieces that were quite similar to Kendall’s look! What do you think of her outfit?
Although we got this Tungsten ring from Modern Design Inc. a size too small, it makes for the perfect new midi-ring. We love it’s heavy weight, which gives the perfect nut and bolt look we’re always searching for! Be warned, this ring will be all over our Instagram.
Last night we celebrated the new Bailey’s Vanilla Cinnamon in the best of ways… taking shots, and getting our hair done. Dream Dry made our dreams come true with the perfect fishtail and waterfall braids! If you’re hair incompetent like us, definitely stop by one of their salons.
Now to the real business… the booze. First of all, they had a build your own shot bar. Insane. We definitely went a little overboard with the sprinkles and gold flakes. Needless to say, the Vanilla Cinnamon is otherworldly, and not in that too sweet desserty kind of way. We even had Bailey’s mixed with tequila… highly recommended.
As a Blogger, social media takes precedence over normal daily happenings, like looking at the sky without a filter, eating a warm meal instead of one that has gone cold by the time you finish with all the necessary @’s and #’s, or even listening to a concert without having to have your hands suspended in the air as you attempt to make an “artsy” video. We’re not complaining… just setting a scene.
When oNecklace sent us “@WanderLustGirls” necklaces, they were all too fitting, and 100% necessary. The perfect guerrilla marketing tactic. So in light of these gorgeous silver name necklaces… follow us!
Okay, there was one thing missing from our NYFW round-up last month… Shoe Stalker! Dun dun dunnnnnn. Like Carrie Bradshaw, we too are obsessed with the highest and most extravagant of shoes. So, we set out to find the best of the best. Whether it was strutting down the runway, or sitting front row, we snapped it! What is your favorite pair?
Back to basics for day 6. All black everything, except some sassy red shoes! It was one of those days. With an absent Abigail I partnered up with our one and only WanderLust Boy, Kim! Ombre shoes, badass. In general, badass. Me, pansy. I’m working on it. Sad to think NYFW was on it’s way out. We will miss you dearly, our feet will definitely not.
Swans? Green?? What is happening?! It’s highly possible we were not mentally stable by day five, regardless, we went for it. Switching it up, you know, freak people out by not wearing the usual garb. Bold move WanderLust, bold move.
